Wow. That's amazing! We LOVE our fruits and veggies around here, but that looks kind of intimidating. Have you been able to use everything before it goes bad?

That looks yummy! So I have to ask, do those tomatoes taste like home grown tomatoes or like store bought ones?

Jessica, it is amazing! And we are able to get through most of it before we get our next basket. We invested in a food dehydrator and we dehydrate what we can't get through in the week. It works great for snacks for the boys. I actually end up planning most of my meals around what I get each week. So I made broccoli and cheese soup this week, some Mexican dishes to use up the Mexican pack and we try to eat fruits at each meal, and veggies as a side to every dish. It really has changed a lot about how we eat.
As for the tomatoes, Kimbrey, they don't taste like home grown tomatoes. The groceries are, for the most part, purchased from the same places grocery stores buy theirs from...and some are grown locally. But we couldn't turn down 20 lbs. for $7.50 (they are $2.00 a pound at Walmart for the same tomatoes)
We're going to can the tomatoes as salsa and marinara sauce... so it won't make as big a deal about their flavor.
And Carri, I'm so sorry you didn't get coconuts!

I was this close to grabbing the tomatoes, too, but I didn't want to can this week. Last week, sure. But this week it's supposed to be hot.
Next time they offer the tomatoes and mexi-bag I'm going to cowboy up and go the salsa route. (Or chicken out and just can the tomatoes--they are sooooo good and then I can make fresh salsa later. Hey, that might be a better plan. Can the tomatoes and chilies and stuff in one jar and then get spiffy about the specific salsa recipe when I go to open it. A half-way-finished recipe. Ooo -- I'm all about getting stuff half-way done. Very tempting.)
