This past weekend, Gramma and Papa M. came to visit.
We worked on Porter calling them Papa and Gramma. He caught on to Papa very well, and it sounds like Papa... but Gramma was a little harder for him to say. Some how it started coming out sounding like Foie gras. And that's what he called her all weekend.
We headed out to the Mountain Meadow Massacre Monument (try saying that ten times fast). It was a beautiful day for a nice drive and it was interesting going out to the monument.Papa shared some suckers with Porter. Which ends up a little less like sharing and more like giving them to him... turns out that if you give him a lick, he'll take the whole thing. But, in his defense, he offered everyone a lick of his sucker in return.

That night when we got home, we stopped at the local store and bought pumpkins to carve. The local grocery store had a sale on pumpkins. The original price was 79 cents/lb down to 14 cents/lb. We bought Kyle a pumpkin that originally would have been a $23 pumpkin for $4 ... and his was the priciest of them all.
I couldn't believe how cheap they were. When we brought them home, Porter was pretty delighted with his pumpkin, and since he could barely carry it, he put it on the floor and rolled it over to sit with Papa.
However, he wasn't too sure what to think when we started hacking into it and asked him to pull out the guts.
He took a good long look inside the pumpkin and then turned to his Daddy and said, "nope".
So Kyle ended up carving his.

Sorry no photos of the results... I have to buy some tea candles first so that you can see them... Kyle is something of a pumpkin carving expert and did an immaculate job on both his and Porter's. My Momma carved Briggs one and it turned out darling. Mine on the other hand was a little interesting... and yesterday Bridger pulled out one of it's eyes. I think I need a redo.
It was a great weekend and it was so fun to have Gramma and Papa to share it with.
We enjoyed having you down, please come again!

Cute, cute boys! We enjoyed our visit, too! I think my new "title" sounded a bit less French and a bit more, "Frog Wah"--hey, I'll answer to anything!!

Tell me that you roasted the seeds, ala the Pioneer Woman? They are yummo. I want some right now.
